Meet our graduates

Abbie
Risk analysis scheme
Cardiff University
Degree in Financial Mathematics (with Professional Placement Year)

I’ve always been interested by how maths can forecast future events and measure risks. So this scheme was a perfect fit. I was also really excited by the idea that TfW will help me to become a future leader. It’ll give me something else to work towards and achieve - I’m really looking forward to the challenge! And thanks to the flexible working, I know I can develop my career and still get to the beach with my two dogs. It’s the best of both worlds.

Ali
Finance scheme
Cardiff University
Degree in Accounting and Finance

One of the most important things about TfW is the culture. So just be yourself! That’s what TfW want to see. It’s about having lots of different people who bring lots of different perspectives. When you’re starting the application process, think about how you can stand out and how you’re unique. That’s really important. And don’t be afraid to ask questions. I’ve been given so much support throughout the process – everyone’s really friendly and genuinely happy to help. So ask away!

Craig
Risk analysis scheme
Glasgow Caledonian University
Degree in Risk Management

I wanted to work on projects that would make a positive difference to the businesses, communities and people of Wales. TfW offered me all of that, plus the chance to use my degree in Risk Management. I haven’t started yet, but the onboarding process has been amazing. I’ve felt welcomed from the get-go. You also get the opportunity to meet up with the other grads who are joining, so I already know some of the people I’ll be working with. I’m off to a great start!

Engineering scheme
University of South Wales
Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering (MEng)

I really like how well-rounded the scheme is. You get the opportunity to work across different areas of the organisation, all while developing your skills and taking on training. Even though I’d re-located for my degree and broadened my comfort zone, I was still a bit nervous to apply. Luckily, everyone at TfW calmed my nerves and reassured me. So with that level of support (plus some tea bags and Jaffa Cakes), I feel ready to take on a new challenge!

Tom
Engineering scheme
UWE Bristol
Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering

I really like being part of a team, so I loved the collaborative nature of TfW. I play rugby for a team in Cardiff, so I know that I get the best out of myself when I work with others. It’s that feeling of being part of something bigger. That’s probably why I was so inspired by the projects at TfW. And the fact that they are striving to be carbon natural in the future is a huge bonus. I really value how they constantly look to the future and try to improve.
